  • Accounting Fundamentals

    This course will introduce students to accounting practices and their applications in the medical setting. Students will learn fundamental accounting terminology and principles, bookkeeping functions such as recording financial transactions in synoptic or cash disbursement journals, setting up and maintaining petty cash, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Anatomy & Body Systems

    This course provides education on the anatomy of the human body and its intricate systems. Students will be able to describe the functions and structures of the human body and explain how they contribute to human life.
  • Business Communications I - English Essentials I

    Students will complete various exercises with an emphasis on improving basic skills in grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure, and apply these skills to writing assignments and tasks.
  • Business Communications II - Written Communication I

    This course is designed to help students develop strategies that will make writing clear, concise, and efficient. Students will learn to express themselves more easily and with more confidence by applying the principles of good writing. Throughout the course, there will also be an emphasis on developing effective writing and editing techniques.
  • Business Communications III - Oral Presentation I

    This subject has three areas of study: Presentation Skills, Facilitative Management, and Interpersonal Communications. Students will learn how to create and deliver effective oral presentations. They will also be introduced to interpersonal problem-solving skills through effective listening and responding skills.
  • Career Management

    Our Career Management program will enable students to apply the most effective strategies to achieve employment in the career of their choice. Students will learn effective job search strategies, cover letter and strategic resume writing, effective interviewing skills, and interview preparation to ensure their success in the career search process.
  • Clinical Pathology

    This course provides students with the knowledge of human disease and illness. Subjects to be covered include the common clinical disorders encountered in the health field and physician’s office. Education will be on the description, signs and symptoms, patient screening, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, prevention, and patient teaching for each disease or illness.
  • CPR & First Aid, Level C certification

    The purpose of this course is for students to obtain certification verifying they have the knowledge and skills to deal with emergency situations and to prevent injuries from happening.
  • Digital Marketing Fundamentals

    Digital marketing has become the primary channel for businesses large and small to communicate with prospective customers. Digital Marketing Fundamentals lays the groundwork for students to understand how online and offline marketing methods work together to deliver results. Students will learn the terms and concepts used in the industry and how they are applied in practical situations.
  • Health Office Billing

    This 40-hour course educates on the use of Healthcare Office software to bill clients for services. Students will be introduced to Healthcare cards, Healthcare insurance and insurance forms, Healthcare benefits and billing codes. Using Medical Office simulations the aim is for students to become confident in combining scheduling and billing real-life scenarios.
  • Healthcare Office Procedures

    In this course, students will learn administrative skills and procedures needed for competency in a medical office setting. This program will focus on daily office procedures, creating professional documents and understanding the roles of team building and professionalism.
  • Healthcare Office Transcripts

    This course will prepare students to produce medical transcriptions from recorded sessions. Students will also demonstrate proficiency in proofreading and editing transcripts.
  • Healthcare Terminology

    This course provides students with knowledge of commonly used prefixes, suffixes, and healthcare terminology, including spelling and pronunciation of the terms. Students will also learn common charting symbols and abbreviations.
  • Medical Law and Ethics

    This course will require students to examine a variety of social, personal, and professional ethical issues. They will learn a variety of methods for resolving the issues through the use of critical thinking skills, ethical reasoning, and legal and professional codes of conduct as it relates to healthcare.
  • Medical Office Software

    This course will provide students with an understanding of the electronic health record (EHR) commonly used within the medical office. It will provide skills and experience in scheduling appointments, ordering diagnostic tests, accessing patient information, and inter-department communication.
  • Microsoft Excel

    Students will be proficient with Microsoft Excel upon successful completion of this course. Topics include creating worksheets, charts, formulas, functions, formatting, web queries, what-if analysis, templates, and working with multiple worksheets and workbooks.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint

    Students will be introduced to designing presentations. Topics include design templates, auto layouts, outline view, bullets, clipart, headers and footers, transitions, animation, importing text, and visuals.
  • Microsoft Windows & 0utlook

    This course is designed to provide students with an overview of the Windows operating system, as well as an introduction to Microsoft Outlook email and contact management.
  • Microsoft Word

    Students will be introduced to word processing using Microsoft Word. Topics include creating, saving, printing, opening documents, using reveal codes, formatting, mail merge, file management, and tables.
  • Pharmacology for Healthcare Office

    This course provides students with knowledge of basic pharmacology. Students will learn the most widely used drugs and medications encountered while employed in the medical field, as well as the body systems they affect, indications and dosage, contraindications, and common side effects.
  • Records Management & Scheduling

    This course will teach students the mechanics of records management and the fundamentals of scheduling in order to successfully manage client flow and information in the health office. This course will also include a Medical Office Virtual Simulation to provide the application of knowledge in a realistic setting.
  • Strategic Web Design

    Website design is undergoing a radical change in how sites are built and how they are viewed. With a need to be viewable on everything from large screens to the smallest phones, newer methods to deliver and display increasingly complex sites have been created. Students will gain an understanding of these changes and how digital marketing professionals are adapting.
  • Understanding Diagnostic & Laboratory Tests

    This course provides an essential understanding of common diagnostic and laboratory tests. Students will learn how to properly carry out general tests, comprehend diagnostic and laboratory test results, and acquire methods for patient preparation and col lection techniques.
