Taking part in your convocation ceremony is a memorable occasion! We invite all graduating* students to attend and celebrate this milestone with family and friends.

Graduation Portraits

Update on Graduation Portraits

If you haven’t booked your graduation portrait appointment yet, spots are filling up quickly. A limited number of walk-in appointments will be available on graduation day. If you’re unable to secure a time, sessions are also offered at the Edge Imaging studio before and after graduation day!

Graduates can now book their official graduation portrait session with Edge Imaging. There are two photography options available, and appointments are required.

Option 1: On-Campus Portrait Sessions

  • Professional graduation portraits taken on campus (1200 St.Laurent Blvd)
  • Multiple poses captured across a variety of backgrounds, with a selection of props available
  • Optional professional headshot add-on
  • Bring your best corporate attire to make the most of this opportunity

Option 2: Convocation Day Portraits

  • Portraits taken on convocation day with family and loved ones
  • Limited availability and sessions will fill quickly
  • Family portraits are limited to a maximum of 5 people per image


Important Booking Information

  • Appointments are required — only graduates with a confirmed booking will be photographed.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early for your scheduled appointment.
  • Photographers will provide the grad gown, cap, tassel, and v-stole/hood for your appointment.
  • A $35 sitting fee must be paid at the time of booking. The sitting fee covers the session and the digital composite. It does not include the cost of printed photos.

 

Styling Tips for Professional and Timeless Photos

  • A collared shirt or blouse pairs beautifully with the gown.
  • A buttoned collar with a coordinating tie offers a classic, professional look.
  • Tank-top style shirts will not be visible beneath the V-neck gown.
  • A casual portrait can be taken after your traditional cap-and-gown session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring children to the ceremony, and do they need a ticket?

Children aged 3 and under attend free with a paid adult ticket if seated on an adult’s lap. A ticket is required if a separate seat is needed. Children must be supervised at all times and cannot sit with graduates during the ceremony or preparation.

 

Will the event be livestreamed for graduates who are not able to attend?

Yes, the event will be livestreamed. The link will be made available closer to the date.

 

Is there parking available on-site?

According to the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre website, parking is available and complimentary. Spaces are first-come, first-served.  More information regarding the venue is available on their website.

 

Will I be able to take the bus there?

Yes, our city bus system, O.C. Transpo, routes #9 Hurdman and #9 Downtown both stop right outside the doors on Vanier Parkway.

 


Hotel Accommodations

The discounted group rate at the Courtyard by Marriott Ottawa East is now over; however, reservations can still be made by calling the hotel directly at 613-741-9862.


Photo Submissions

We’re putting together a special graduation slideshow to celebrate your journey—and we’d love for you to be part of it!

Graduating students are invited to submit photos and videos to be featured throughout graduation day on monitors at the event. Share your favorite memories from your time with us—whether it’s moments with classmates, snapshots in class, time spent with instructors, or any highlights that capture your learning experience.
