Here’s How Willis College Is Developing Innovative Programs To Make Becoming A Dental Assistant Easier
Dental Assistants are always in demand. They’re the superheroes that keep any dental office in Ontario, or across the country, running smoothly.
However, training isn’t always that easy. Ontario is a big province with many of the vacancies located in small towns that don’t have the proper colleges and schools to provide training. Willis College is working to fix that and break down the geographical barriers that someone wanting to enter this exciting field may face!
Our NEW Dental Assisting Program (Distance) consists of online clinical instruction and a work term placement (at a dental office) throughout the program. This unique offering combining online learning, and in-office learning makes it much easier for students to learn in their hometowns, wherever they may be! Students will spend two days per week (10 hours) in a work-term placement at a dental practice, as well as three days per week of highly structured, remote, and instructor-led online learning.
Students also spend four weeks at the Willis College dental clinic. These four weeks are broken down into two, two-week sessions of clinical skills and assessments
